Catherine Cooke (nee Sherwood)
Catherine is a passionate and entrepreneurial-minded business woman. She has consistent success in start-ups; building, growing and improving the profitability as well as lifting performance to increase the value of existing companies and creating sustainable exit/succession strategies.
Stephen is extensively trained in people management and leadership both privately and through corporate training programs. In his early 20s he was granted with a sponsorship to attend the Outward Bound New Zealand Leadership course at Anakiwi. This was followed by significant corporate management training with The Bank of America and Citicorp.
During his early career, Stephen specialised in the management of information technology professionals, before returning to New Zealand where he changed his career to I.T. sales and marketing. This change lead to purchasing his own company and there started his experience in business ownership.
Nicola has a background steeped in finance, having spent many years in domestic banking both here and in the UK. Two years in merchant banking in London followed by five years as a corporate foreign exchange dealer, her last role being in ANZ Auckland treasury.
Raising a family of four sons and growing a business dictated her and her marketer husband Andrews next phase of life. The purchase of a business and relocation to Warkworth in 2000 began a time of much personal growth and many challenges, industry changes, expansion, diversification, and recession. As the GFC hit home Nicola took the helm of the business while Andrew returned to a corporate role. Successfully preparing the business for sale and a seemly industry exit post GFC was one of the hardest times but in hindsight a highlight.
Nicola had just launched a start-up – seeing a niche in what is now termed the virtual assistant market however finances dictated she return to banking and finance.
Kirsty has a 25 year background in IT, including management and consulting for large multinational companies the UK where she lived for 13 years. On returning to New Zealand in 2010, starting a family, and dabbling with working in the city, she decided that using all the skills learned with those major hitters like Pepsi, she could do her own thing and started up her own business building websites and online solutions. That was a baptism of fire, and she learned some stuff!
The stuff has enabled her to have a great insight into both small and large business models, and understands the challenges that all businesses face – bringing together the right people, to do the right thing, using the right tools. What the ‘right’ thing is for one business is not the same as the next, and Kirsty will help you find out what your ‘right’ looks like, or at least what is good for ‘right now’.
For over 30 years Greg has been involved in a variety of business enterprises, both in management and ownership. As a business owner for nearly three decades Greg has strong commercial acumen with a wealth of knowledge across both B2B and B2C.
Greg has expertise across all aspects of commerce, from customer service and delivery through to importing, exporting and product development. Greg has travelled extensively throughout Asia negotiating deals and contracts with numerous global manufacturers.
A skilled and resourceful businessman Greg has always believed in authentic leadership, and the principles of kotahitanga; togetherness and unity and manaakitanga; hospitality, generosity and mutual respect.
Greg is a man of strong values; reliable, honest and loyal. He thrives on problem solving and is skilled at interpersonal relationships. He is passionate about helping organisations, teams and individuals reach their full potential in a fast changing environment.
